AUSTIN, TX — February 10, 2026 — EHC Consulting, a healthcare technology consulting firm specializing in Epic® on public cloud strategy, migration, and operations, today announced that Dr. Tim Calahan has joined the firm as Founder and Managing Member.
Calahan most recently served as Chief Technology Officer at Michigan Medicine, where he was responsible for enterprise technology strategy, infrastructure, and operations for one of the nation’s leading academic health systems. His move marks a significant moment for EHC Consulting and reflects a growing industry focus on public cloud as foundational infrastructure for healthcare.
“After four years inside a health system, the need for intentional, resilient infrastructure has never been clearer,” said Calahan. “Healthcare is entering a decade where reliability, security, and recovery are non-negotiable. Public cloud — when done correctly — is no longer a future discussion. It’s a present responsibility, and my time at Michigan Medicine validated that firsthand.”
Calahan brings deep experience across both healthcare provider and technology ecosystems. Prior to Michigan Medicine, he held senior leadership roles spanning cloud architecture, engineering, and healthcare technology services. Earlier in his career, Calahan spent nearly 15 years in management consulting before holding senior leadership roles at premier technology companies including NetApp, EMC, and Dell Technologies. His work across these organizations helped shape early healthcare cloud platforms and ultimately led to the founding of EHC Consulting — based on the belief that healthcare could not achieve resilience, security, and scale while constrained by legacy data center models.
“Tim’s decision to go all in at EHC reflects both his commitment and his credibility,” said Charles Knight, Founder and Managing Member of EHC Consulting. “He understands the realities health systems face because he’s lived them. His leadership strengthens our ability to help organizations modernize infrastructure without shortcuts.”
EHC Consulting has supported some of the industry’s most complex Epic on public cloud deployments, working closely with health systems to architect, migrate, and operate mission-critical environments on leading public cloud platforms. The firm is widely recognized for its Epic on public cloud expertise, distinguished by a proven client process that delivers resilient, operationally sustainable outcomes, not just technical completion.
Calahan emphasized that his move is rooted in respect for the provider community.
“Leaving my health system role is not a rejection of that world,” said Calahan, “It’s a commitment to it at scale. My time inside a health system confirmed that the challenges — and the opportunities — are shared across the industry. Health systems need partners who understand modern cloud infrastructure, operations, and governance and possess the ability to execute that vision.”
Calahan’s move reflects his conviction that the next decade of healthcare will be defined by technology decisions made today — and that healthcare leadership can no longer afford to wait.
